BUCKINGHAM RAILWAY WALK – SIGNAL CONTROLLED
TOUCAN CROSSINGS & SHARED USE PATH IMPROVEMENTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Buckinghamshire Council as the local highway authority under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, proposes to introduce two new signal controlled toucan crossings (under Section 23 of the Road Regulation Act 1984) and convert sections of the existing Buckingham Railway Walk to shared use pedestrian and cycle path (under Section 3 (1) of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984 and Regulation 3 of the Cycle Track Regulations 1984) at the following locations:
• A421 Ring Road (crossing south of Buckingham Railway Walk located east of the junction with Great Slade Industrial Park) & Tingewick Road (crossing north of Buckingham Railway Walk located approximately 171 metres east of the junction with Dunstan Street) – Two new signal-controlled toucan crossings.
• Buckingham Railway Walk (from Tingewick Road in a south-easterly direction to Station Terrace and the land owned by the University of Buckingham) – to convert the existing permissive path into shared use pedestrian and cycle path.
• Buckingham Railway Walk (from the A421 Ring Road in a north- westerly direction to the land owned by the University of Buckingham) – to convert the existing permissive path into shared use pedestrian and cycle path.
A copy of the plans showing the length of roads and paths affected, together with a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for these proposals may be inspected Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm at Buckinghamshire Council, Walton Street Offices, Walton Street, Aylesbury, HP20 1UA, United Kingdom.

The consultation opens on Friday 15th August 2025 and closes at 11:59pm on Friday 12th September 2025.
