PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF WAITING RESTRICTIONS

AMPERE WAY, CROYDON

The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and

(Free Parking Places) (No. F19) Order 20–

The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No. F20) Order 20–

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be:

a) To remove 41.5 metres of “at any time” waiting restrictions from the north-east side of Ampere Way, and 30 metres of “at any time” waiting restrictions from the south-west side of Ampere Way, adjacent to its junction with Volta Way, to be replaced with the zig-zag markings of a proposed new Toucan crossing at that location.

b) To relocate the existing bus stop L (situated to the south-east of the Ampere Way tram stop entrance) 8.23 metres north-west of its current location, so it is nearer to the tram stop entrance, and to replace the re-located length of bus stop with 8.23 metres of double yellow lines.

3. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, or the Council decides not to make the Orders, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.

4. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section or email the Parking Design Team (addresses above), quoting the reference PD/CH/F19 & F20 by 27 August 2025.

5. The Order is intended to amend existing waiting restrictions in Ampere Way to accommodate a new Toucan crossing and relocated bus stop. The changes are part of a scheme to introduce improvements to create a safer environment for both pedestrians and cyclists in and along Ampere Way.

SECTION 23

PROPOSED TOUCAN PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE CROSSING & AMENDMENT TO EXISTING PELICAN PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

AMPERE WAY, CROYDON

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to introduce a new toucan crossing and to amend an existing pelican crossing, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

The general effect of the new and amended crossings will be to create a safer environment for both pedestrians and cyclists in and along Ampere Way.

Proposed Toucan Crossing

The crossing points will be in two 4-metre-wide sections positioned on Ampere Way immediately adjacent to the junction with Volta Way, either side of the central reservation/road island opposite Ikea as follows:

• On the north-east side of Ampere Way, the zig-zag markings would extend 16.79 metres to the north-west and 17.04 metres to the south-east of the crossing point.

• On the south-west side of Ampere Way, the zig-zag markings would extend 4.5 metres to the north-west and 16.88 metres to the south-east of the crossing point.

Amendment to Existing Pelican Crossing

The zig-zag markings to the south-east of the existing pelican crossing outside the Ampere Way Tram stop would be reduced from 17 metres to 8.7 metres to accommodate changes required to install the new crossing detailed above.

PROPOSED RAISED ENTRY TREATMENT

VOLTA WAY, CROYDON

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to install a raised entry treatment as specified in the Schedule to this Notice to help reduce vehicular speeds, improve road safety and provide a crossing point for pedestrians at this location.

Persons desiring to object to the proposal should send a statement in writing of their objections and grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Parking Design Team, 3rd Floor Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA or by emailing parking.design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference PD/CH/F18 by 27 August 2025.

It is intended to place a raised entry treatment in the carriageway in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999. As a guide the tabletop will be surfaced in paving and span the width of Volta Way (the Ikea entrance/exit). It will be between 80mm and 100mm high with an approximate ramp gradient of 1:20 at the Ampere Way junction and 1:30 on the Ikea side. It will be situated in the following location.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 04 August 2025 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

1. The general effect of the Orders will be to:
