Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA
A229 The Common, Sissinghurst, TN17 2AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 The Common, Sissinghurst, on or after 6th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Mount View. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A229 The Common, A229 Camden Hill, A229 Rocks Hill, A229 Knoxbridge, A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 High Street, A229 Station Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Linton Hill, A229 Linton Road, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 North Street, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Mill Bank, A274 North Street, A274 High Street, A274 Station Road, A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Biddenden Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 North Street, A262 Tenterden Road, A262 High Street, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 Biddenden Road, A262 The Street, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A229 Wilsley Pound, A229 The Common, and vice versa.
Broadmead, Broadwater Rise & Broadwater Down, Royal Tunbridge Wells, TN2 5UF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Broadmead, Broadwater Rise and Broadwater Down, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 138 days or until the works have been completed.
Broadmead will be closed between the dates of 1st September 2025 to 13th October 2025, from in the vicinity of number property number 142 to junction with Broadwater Rise. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Broadwater Rise will be closed between the dates of 13th October 2025 to 31st October 2025, in the vicinity of properties 24 to 26. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Broadwater Down will be closed between the dates of 1st September 2025 to 16th January 2025, from in the vicinity of property number 27 to junction with A26 Eridge Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broadmead, Broadwater Rise, Broadwater Down, A26 Eridge Road and vice versa. Access for residents will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Broom Lane, Langton Green (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Broom Lane, Langton Green, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Adams Well. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broom Lane, A264 Langton Road, B2110 Groombridge Hill, B2110 Withyham Road, Station Road, Broadwater Forest Lane, Hillswood Road, Broom Lane and vice versa.
Cornford Lane, Royal Tunbridge Wells, TN2 4RB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cornford Lane, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 19th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stafford House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Halls Hole Road, A264 Pembury Road, A228 Pembury Road, High Street, Cornford Lane and vice versa.
Ethnam Lane, Sandhurst, TN18 5PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ethnam Lane, Sandhurst, on or after 3rd September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with A268 Rye Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Heartenoak Road, Hawkhurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Heartenoak Road, Hawkhurst, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 75 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hawkhurst House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Heartenoak Road, A229 Cranbrook Road, Ockley Road, Heartenoak Road and vice versa.
Horsmonden Road, Brenchley, TN12 7AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Horsmonden Road, Brenchley, on or after 7th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Paygate Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Horsmonden Road, High Street, Brenchley Road, B2160 Maidstone Road, Kipping’s Cross Roundabout, A21 Hastings Road, Blue Boys Roundabout, A21 Hastings Road, A21 Lamberhurst Quarter, A21 Lamberhurst By-pass, A21 J A262/B2162 Roundabout, B2162 Horsmonden Road, B2162 Lamberhurst Road, The Heath, Brenchley Road, Horsmonden Road and vice versa.
Romford Road, Pembury (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow electrical works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Romford Road, Pembury, on or after 19th August 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Romford Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Romford Road, Bramble Reed Lane, B2160 Maidstone Road, Kings Toll Road, Romford Road and vice versa.
Water Lane, Hawkhurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Water Lane, Hawkhurst, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the entrance to Honeysuckle Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Water Lane, A229 Hawkhurst Road, A229 Gills Green, A229 Cranbrook Road, A268 Rye Road, Water Lane and vice versa.
