Tonbridge and Malling, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

TONBRIDGE AND MALLING AREA

A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, TN10 3BH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, on or after 7th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 44, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A227 Shipbourne Road, A227 Tonbridge Road, A227 Bates Hill, A227 The Street, A227 Borough Green Road, A25 Sevenoaks Road, A25 Maidstone Road, A20 London Road, A20 Ashton Way, A228 Ashton Way, A228 Malling Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Maidstone Road, A26 High Street, A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Hadlow Road East, A26 Cornwallis Avenue, A26 Hadlow Road, A227 Hadlow Road, A227 Bordyke, A227 High Street, A227 Shipbourne Road and vice versa.

 

B245 Gas Mains Replacement, Hildenborough (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Hildenborough, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 68 days or until the works have been completed.

The following roads will be closed as per the below schedule:

Works Schedule

Foxbush, Hildenborough – 1st September 2025 to 21st October 2025

Will be closed at the junction with B245 Tonbridge Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B245 Tonbridge Road, B245 London Road, Foxbush and vice versa.

Coldharbour Lane, Hildenborough – 1st September 2025 to 24th October 2025

Will be closed in the vicinity of Hardwick Park Farm.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

Half Moon Lane, Hildenborough – 8th September 2025 to 28th October 2025

Will be closed at the junction with B245 Tonbridge Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B245 Tonbridge Road, Riding Lane, Mount Pleasant, Half Moon Lane and vice versa.  The one-way order on Half Moon Lane will be suspended to allow access.

Mount Pleasant, Hildenborough – 8th September 2025 to 28th October 2025

Will be closed at the junction with B245 Tonbridge Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B245 Tonbridge Road, Riding Lane, Mount Pleasant and vice versa.

Riding Lane, Hildenborough – 18th October 2025 to 7th November 2025

Will be closed at the junction with B245 Tonbridge Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Riding Lane, Church Road, Mount Pleasant, B245 Tonbridge Road and vice versa.

To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Broadwater Road, West Malling, ME19 6JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water pipe works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Broadwater Road, West Malling, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 181. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broadwater Road, Clare Lane, Winterfield Lane, A20 London Road, Town Hill, High Street, Water Lane, Lavenders Road, Broadwater Road and vice versa.

 

Bull Lane & High Street, Aylesford, ME20 7AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new electric service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bull Lane & High Street, Aylesford, on or after 4th September 2025 for up to 14 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Aylesford Priory. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Rochester Road, Pilgrims Way, Bull Lane and vice versa.

 

Church Lane, Trottiscliffe, ME19 5EE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Trottiscliffe, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Pinesfield Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pinesfield Lane, Pilgrims Way, Taylors Lane, Church Lane and vice versa.

 

Common Road, Hadlow (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water asset repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Common Road, Hadlow, on or after 3rd September 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Steers Place. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Common Road, A26 Maidstone Road, A26 High Street, Carpenters Lane, Common Road and vice versa.

 

Knowsley Way, Hildenborough, TN11 9JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Knowsley Way, Hildenborough, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 54 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 3. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Knowsley Way, Coldharbour Lane, B245 Tonbridge Road, Mount Pleasant, Knowsley Way and vice versa.

 

Mill Lane, Ightham, TN15 9HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Ightham, on or after 3rd September 2025 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Mill Lane House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, A227 Bates Hill, A227 The Street, A227 Borough Green Road, Dark Hill Road, Thong Lane and vice versa.

 

School Lane, Wouldham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow a new water supply connection to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Lane, Wouldham, on or after 20th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of School Farm House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Lane, Pilgrims Way, Burham Road, Wouldham Road, Rochester Road, High Street, School Lane and vice versa.

 

Snodland Road, Snodland, ME6 5LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water main works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Snodland Road, Snodland, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 558. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Snodland Road, Ryarsh Road, Birling Road, The Street, Roughetts Road, A20 London Road, New Hythe Lane, Leybourne Way, A228 Malling Road, A228 Snodland By-pass Roundabout, Malling Road, High Street, Birling Road and vice versa.

 

Teston Road, Offham, ME19 5PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway improvements to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Teston Road, Offham, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Barfield. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Teston Road, B2016 Seven Mile Lane, A20 London Road, Town Hill, High Street, St Leonards Street and vice versa.

 

Warren Road, Bluebell Hill Village, ME5 9RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warren Road, Bluebell Hill Village, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity for property number 36. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Warren Road, Lower Warren Road, Rochester Road, Chatham Road, A229 Kits Coty Slip Northbound On, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip North Off, Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, Taddington Wood Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, Maidstone Road and Mill Lane.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Mill Lane, Maidstone Road, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip South On, A229 Bluebell Hill, Kits Coty Slip Southbound Off, Lower Warren Road and Warren Road.

 

Various Roads, Tonbridge & Malling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow a programme of highway maintenance and ancillary activities on Kent County Council’s strategic roads and to support our annual high speed road programme, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Kent, as shown below.

This Order takes effect on or after 19 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

A229 MAIDSTONE ROAD (MEDWAY BORDER TO LORD LEES ROUNDABOUT)

Road Closed from the underpass from the northbound off slip to Lord Lees Roundabout onto the overbridge to the Southbound off slip to Bridgewood Roundabout, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A229 BLUE BELL HILL (LORD LEES ROUNDABOUT)

Road Closed from the underpass from the northbound off slip to Lord Lees Roundabout onto the overbridge to the Southbound off slip to Bridgewood Roundabout, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative Route for any Northbound through traffic is via the off-slip to Lord Lees Roundabout, Lord Lees Roundabout, link road to Bridgewood Roundabout, Bridgewood Roundabout, on-slip to A229.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via the off-slip to Bridgewood Roundabout, Bridgewood Roundabout, link road to Lord Lees Roundabout, Lord Lees Roundabout, on-slip to A229.
