What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

B2050 Manston Road, Ramsgate, CT12 6HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2050 Manston Road, Ramsgate, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside and opposite Staner Court to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2050 Manston Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, A254 Margate Road, B2014 Newington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Albert Terrace Mews, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Albert Terrace Mews, Margate, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 11 to outside number 15, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albert Terrace, Marine Gardens and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Convent Road, Broadstairs, CT10 3BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Convent Road, Broadstairs, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 28 to outside number 30, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Convent Road, Reading Street, Elmwood Avenue, B2052 Joss Gap Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cottage Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cottage Road, Ramsgate, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 23, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cottage Road, Abbots Hill, Camden Road, Hibernia Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Dane Hill Row, Margate, CT9 1SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dane Hill Row, Margate, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 41 & 42, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Dane Hill Row, Bath Road, Dane Road and Dane Hill.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Dane Hill, Clifton Street, Bath Road and Dane Hill Row.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ebbsfleet Lane North, Ramsgate, CT12 5DN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow railway works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ebbsfleet Lane North, Ramsgate, on or after 7th September 2025 for up to 12 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the level crossing, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Foads Hill, Ramsgate, CT12 5EE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow railway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foads Hill, Ramsgate, on or after 21st August 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the level crossing, between the hours of 23:45 and 05:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foads Hill, Canterbury Road West, A256 Canterbury Road West, Lord Of The Manor Roundabout, Sandwich Road, Cliffs End Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Manston Court Road, Margate, CT9 4LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Manston Court Road, Margate, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Hollybank to the junction of Vincent Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manston Court Road, Star Lane, Star Lane Link, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road, A256 Haine Road, B2050 Manston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Monkton Road, Minster, CT12 4JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Monkton Road, Minster, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside 139b for approximately 25m past the junction of Hoo Farm Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Monkton Road, Tothill Street, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Monkton Roundabout, Willetts Hill, Monkton Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Northdown Park Road, Northdown Way & Millmead Avenue, Margate, CT9 3LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northdown Park Road, Northdown Way & Millmead Avenue, Margate, on or after 1st September 2025 until the works have been completed.

Closures are planned in 2 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - Northdown Park Road will be closed between the junctions of Northdown Way and Millmead Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. The road will be closed from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 10th October 2025.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Park Road, Foreland Avenue, Northdown Road, Northumberland Avenue and vice versa.

Northdown Way will be closed from the junction of Northdown Park Road to outside number 1A, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. The road will be closed from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 19th September 2025.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Way, B2052 Millmead Road, Millmead Avenue and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Millmead Avenue will be closed at the junction of Northdown Park Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. The road will be closed from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 10th October 2025.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Park Road, B2052 Millmead Road, Millmead Gardens and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Princess Margaret Avenue, Ramsgate, CT12 6HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Princess Margaret Avenue, Ramsgate, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Newington Community Centre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Princess Margaret Avenue, Auckland Avenue, Rossland Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Quex Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Quex Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 8 Nelson Villa. The one-way Order will be suspended to entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Streete Court Road, Victoria Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Mildreds Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8SS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Mildreds Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside St Saviours Church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Mildreds Road, Station Road, Roxburgh Road, Westgate Bay Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Pathway, Broadstairs, CT10 1JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Pathway, Broadstairs, on or after 20th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Alexandra Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Tivoli Road, Margate, CT9 4BZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tivoli Road, Margate, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 68 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be carried out in 4 phases as a rolling closure.

Phase 1 - Tivoli Road will be closed between the junctions of B2052 Hartsdown Road and Tivoli Park Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 2 - Tivoli Road will be closed between the junctions of Tivoli Park Avenue and Beatrice Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 3 - Tivoli Road will be closed between the junctions of Beatrice Road and Buckingham Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 4 - Tivoli Road will be closed between the junctions of Buckingham Road and A254 Eaton Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via B2052 Hartsdown Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A254 Belgrave Road, A254 Eaton Road and Tivoli Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road and B2052 College Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
