Swale, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

Boxted Lane, Newington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Boxted Lane, Newington from 6th September 2025, with estimated completion by 8th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Boxted Farm House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Breach Lane, Forge Lane, The Street, Sheerness Road, Basser Hill, Iwade Road, School Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Brook Road, Faversham, ME13 7HA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow footway reconstruction works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Brook Road, Faversham, from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 12th October 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broomfield Road, Fostall Road, Springhead Road and vice versa.

 

Cellar Hill, Lynsted, ME9 9QY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cellar Hill, Lynsted, from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 28, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cellar Hill, Cambridge Lane, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Kemsdale Road, Hernhill. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow the road to be closed due to carriageway damage, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kemsdale Road, Hernhill from 18th August 2025, with estimated completion by 30th November 2025.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Staple Street and Kays Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kays Lane, Church Hill, Staple Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lower Road, Buckland, ME9 9LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Road, Buckland, from 19th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Mockbeggar Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Bysing Wood Road, Luddenham Hill, B2045 Western Link, A2 London Road, Lower Norton Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Meresborough Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7FJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Meresborough Lane, Hartlip from 20th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 13 Holly Acres, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Meresborough Lane, A2 London Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Mount Lane, Place Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

School Lane, Iwade, Iwade Road, Newington & Basser Hill, Lower Halstow. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Iwade, Iwade Road, Newington & Basser Hill, Lower Halstow, from 21:00 hours on 3rd September 2025, with estimated completion by 06:00 hours on 4th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

School Lane will be closed between the junction with Basser Hill and Orchard Farm Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Iwade Road and Basser Hill will be closed at the junction where they meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for Iwade Road & School Lane is via School Lane, Ferry Road, Sheppey Way, Stickfast Lane, Iwade Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for Basser Hill is via Basser Hill, Raspberry Hill Lane, Old Ferry Road, The Street, Ferry Road, Sheppey Way, Stickfast Lane, Iwade Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

School Lane, Newington ME9 7FG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Newington from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 5th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boxted Lane, Breach Lane, Forge Lane, The Street, Sheerness Road, Basser Hill, Iwade Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Agnes Gardens, Sheerness, ME12 1XT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Agnes Gardens, Sheerness, from 18th August 2025, with estimated completion by 20th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with First Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vincent Gardens.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Straight Hill, Norton. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow environmental and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Straight Hill, Norton from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 12th September 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Norton Road and Faversham Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Norton Road, Provender Lane, Rushett Lane, Faversham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Yaugher Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7XD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025

To allow fire hydrant works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Yaugher Lane, Hartlip, from 19th August 2025, with estimated completion by 21st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Yaugher Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Matts Hill, Warren Lane, Place Lane, Meresborough Lane, Yaugher Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
