  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames propose to make the above Order under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9, to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The principal objective of the Orders will be to upgrade the single yellow lines to double yellow lines at the junction of Gladstone Avenue and Rosebine Avenue Twickenham. In addition, there are proposals to slightly reduce the length of existing parking bays (Zone R) in Gladstone Avenue.

  3. Copies of further particulars giving details of the scheme: –

    (a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 25/139 at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and may be viewed on the Council’s website at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices

  4. Persons wishing to object to or support the proposals or any part thereof should write to the Head of Engineering, Traffic and Parking Policy, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham TW1 3BZ within 28 days of the date by giving the grounds of their objection. Representations may also be sent by email to TrafficOrders@richmond.gov.uk

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Road Closure

Parkshot, Richmond

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecom works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Parkshot, Richmond.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in North Lane, from the junction with Twickenham Road to the junction with Clarence Street.

  3. Whilst Parkshot, Richmond is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Little Green, Portland Terrace, The Green, King Street, A307, A305, A316, Clarence Street.

  4. The order will come into effect on 11 August 2025.

    These night works are anticipated to be in progress from 22.00 on 11 August to 05.00 on 12 August 2025.

    The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Footpath Closure

Barnes Bridge, Pedestrian Footpath, Barnes.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate Bridge Maintenance works they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a footpath closure over Barnes Bridge.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person may proceed in over Barnes Bridge Pedestrian Footpath from Barnes Bridge Station to the north Embankment of the River Thames.

  3. The order will come into effect on 07 August 2025.

    These night works are expected to be in progress from 23.00 to 05.00 only on intermittent nights between 07 August and 15 September 2025; the order will remain in force for a period of 6 months.

  4. An alternative route for persons affected by the closure will be available via The Terrace, Mortlake High Street, Lower Richmond Road, Clifford Avenue, Dan Masan Drive and The Promenade.

  5. The prohibitions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
