What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

(The Urban District of Farnham (Various Streets)
(One-Way and Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1967)
(Part Revocation) Order (No.1) 2025
On 12 August 2025 Surrey County Council (“the Council”) made the above named Order, under Section 1 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the purpose and effect of which is to amend the Schedule to “The Urban District of Farnham (Various Streets) (One-Way and Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1967” insofar as to revoke the one way-system for traffic on the length of road specified and described in part a) to the Schedule to this Notice. Note – the Council has deferred the proposals specified in part b) to the Schedule to this Notice. A copy of this Notice, a plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policies- plans-consultations/roads-and-transport-consultations. These documents may also be viewed, together with a copy of the made Order, which will come into operation on 17 August 2025, until six weeks from the date of the making of the Order, during normal opening hours at:- 1. Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ; 2. Farnham Library, Vernon House, 28 West Street, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7DR; and 3. Farnham Town Council, Town Council Office, South Street, Farnham GU9 7RN. If you wish to object to the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks of from the date of the making of the Order, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
SCHEDULE
a) That length of A287 Downing Street, Farnham that extends from its junction with A287 Union Road and A287 Longbridge, to its junction with D5335 Lower Church Lane – from east to west
b) That length of A287 The Borough, Farnham that extends from its junction with B3228 West Street and A287 Downing Street, to the eastern side of its junction with A287 Castle Street – from south-west to north-east
