Department for Infrastructure - temporary road closure
What is happening?
Temporary Road Closure
on the C0218 Dorans Hill,
Newry
Notice is hereby given that the Department for Infrastructure
in its capacity as Road Authority and acting in pursuance of
its powers under Article 7 of the Road Traffic Regulation
(Northern Ireland) Order 1997 has temporarily prohibited
the use of 468 meters from the above named road to
through traffic, from the junction of U6285 Watsons Road to
the junction of C0218 Chancellors Road from 09:00 on
Monday 18 August 2025 until 16:00 on Friday 05
September 2025.
Local access and access for emergency vehicles will be
maintained at all times.
This closure is to facilitate Carr Brothers Limited with
carriageway construction.
An alternative route will be signed with traffic being
diverted via:
Diversion 1: U6285 Watsons Road, C0218
Chancellors Road.
Diversion 2: C0218 Dorans Hill, U6281 Martins Lane,
C0218 Martins Lane Overbridge, C0218 Chancellors Road,
A0001 A1 Chancellors Road On-Slip Road (North Bound),
C0218 A1 Chancellors Road.
