What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
BURNBY LANE, POCKLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Burnby Lane, Pocklington commencing 8 September
2025 until 11 September 2025 to allow works for
safety barrier replacement at Burnby Lane, Pocklington.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within four days. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via Burnby Road,
Back Lane, Town Street, York Road, The Balk, White Mill
Roundabout, The Balk Roundabout, New Street and
Burnby Lane, Pocklington CP, Hayton CP, Pocklington
Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic however
access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.
