What is happening?

THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND
(GROUP ORDER PHASE 1) (VARIOUS RESTRICTIONS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 20--

NOTICE is given that Sunderland City Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 and 33 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The effect of the proposed Order will be to: (i) Prohibit waiting at any time along the roads in Schedule 1; (ii) Prohibit waiting between Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (inclusive) along the roads in Schedule 2; (iii) Prohibit loading and unloading at any time along the roads in Schedule 3; (iv) Prohibit loading and unloading between Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm (inclusive) at any time along the roads in Schedule 4; (v) Prohibit stopping in a School Keep Clear Zone between Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (inclusive) along the Highfield Manor, Washington on the south-east side from a point 31.4 metres east of the extended eastern highway boundary of Well Bank Road, for a distance of 42.1 metres in an easterly then northerly direction; (vi) Introduce a 40MPH Speed Limit Zone along Newcastle Road from a point 10 metres north-west of the extended south-eastern property boundary of the King's Manor, in a north westerly direction to the City Boundary; and (vii) Revoke the Orders to the extent set out in Schedule 5. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to proceed to make the Order. Newcastle Road, Sunderland (i) the west side from a point 58.0 metres north of the extended party property boundary of 28 & 30 Cairns Road, for a distance of 120.5 metres in a southerly direction. The Peel Centre, Glover, Washington, Sunderland (i) the north side from a point 26.4 metres west of its intersection with the extended western highway boundary of Spire Road, for a distance of 36.5 metres in a westerly direction. Church Road, Hetton-le-hole, Houghton-le-spring (i) the east side from a point 7.9 metres north of the extended southern property boundary of 2 Low Downs Road, to its intersection with Low Downs Road; (ii) the west side from a point 5.5 metres north of the extended southern property boundary of 2 Low Downs Road, for a distance of 43.5 metres in a northerly direction.
