Essex - Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Testing Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Chestnut Avenue, Littlebury)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chestnut Avenue, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 365m north west of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 305m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 4 nights (22:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL721BGK-42-50-010925 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while maintenance works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Chestnut Avenue, B1383, Littlebury Green Road, Strethall Road, Littlebury Green Road, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in fCorce for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Ugley Road, Henham/Ugley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ugley Road, Henham/Ugley in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with North Hall Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20181522085 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via North Hall Road, B1383, Ugley Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Radwinter Road & Kates Lane, Ashdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Radwinter Road, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m south of its junction with Kates Lane for a distance of approximately 20m in southerly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Kates Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 200m east then north east then south east of its junction with Radwinter Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 21st August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG8GR57KPTSB & BC008WG8GR57KPTSB01 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Radwinter Road, Ashdon Road, B1053, Elizabeth Way, Ashdon Road, Walden Road, Church Hill, Radwinter Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
