What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Pointel Street, Burnham-on-Crouch) (20mph Zone) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under S84(1)(a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the order: To implement a ‘20mph Zone’.

Road: Pointel Street, Burnham-on-Crouch

Description: From a point approximately 7.5 metres southwest of its junction with the B1010 Maldon Road, for the rest of its remaining lengths, including any turning heads and private drives.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 08 August 2025

(Maldon Road, Burnham-on-Crouch)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Burnham-on-Crouch in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Creeksea Lane to its junction with Ferry Road for a distance of approximately 615m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd September 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (XV016UKP9641-MAJOR2 – Global Utility Connections). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while utility works installation works are undertaken by Global Utility Connections.

The alternative route will be via B1021, B1018, B1010 and vice versa (with access only into Lower Burnham Road, Fambridge Road, Burnham Road and Maldon Road).

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Mundon Road, Maldon/Mundon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mundon Road, Maldon/Mundon in the District of Maldon, from the junction of Blind Lane for a distance 1830m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 10 nights (21:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG3P1P5VETHSB & BC008WG3P1P5VETH01SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Mundon Road, Limebrook Way, B1018, Burnham Road, Main Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Sheepcotes Lane, Southminster)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sheepcotes Lane, Southminster in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Queenborough Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30024474855 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Orchard Road, Maldon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Orchard Road, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 65m north west of its junction with Granger Avenue for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th August 2025 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013329411A – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Orchard Road, St Peters Avenue, Granger Avenue and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Penny Royal Road, Danbury)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Penny Royal Road, Danbury in the District of Chelmsford, from its junction with Bicknacre Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M148425A – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Penny Royal Road, Bicknacre Road and vice versa (westbound access only to Penny Royal Road).

The Order came into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
