What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (U3206 George Street, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

George Street – for 30 metres outside No.24.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 19 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6957 Swainham Lane, Crowhurst)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Swainham Lane – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 13 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C23 Chick Hill, Pett) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Trooli to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Chick Hill – from the junction with C92 Pett Level Road to the junction with C23 Pett Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 4 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 14 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6122 The Pound, Ashburnham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended,

which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Pound – from the junction with C18 Church Road to the junction with C412 Brownbread Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Church Road – C412 Brownbread Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6589 Gunters Lane/U6586 West Down Road/ U6745 Woodsgate Park, Bexhill)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Gunters Lane and West Down Road – from the junction with P6616 Old Mill Park to the junction with U6582 Broadoak Lane.

Diversion via U6586 West Down Road – A259(T) Little Common Road – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A269 London Road, Ninfield Road – C346 Turkey Road – U6589 Gunters Lane and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 17 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 15 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6531 Collington Lane East, Bexhill)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,

as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Collington Lane East – from the junction with U6529 Eden Drive to the junction with U6533 Cranston Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6531 Collington Lane East – B2098 Sutherland Avenue – U6533 Cranston Avenue.

The Order commenced 19 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 11 and 12 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3152 Cornfield Terrace, St Leonards)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cornfield Terrace – from the junction with U3154 Tower Road to the junction with A21 Bohemia Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3154 Tower Road – A21 Bohemia Road and vice versa.

To maintain access for residents only, a suspension of one-way traffic will be in place (revert to two-way traffic), during these works.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 13 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C23 Pett Road, Pett)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C23 Chick Hill – C92 Pett Level Road – C635 Rosemary Lane – C23 Pett Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 26 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 and 28 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2165 Clayhill, Beckley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Clayhill – from the junction with U6630 New Road to the junction with B2165 The Stream.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2165 Clayhill – B2088 Rye Road – A28 Hastings Road, Perryman Cross, Well House Hill – B2165 Beckley Road, The Stream and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 and 29 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6621 Ellenwhorne Lane, Staplecross)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Road Traffic Management Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ellenwhorne Lane – from the junction with B2165 Northiam Road to the junction with B2089 Catts Green.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2165 Northiam Road, Cripps Corner Road – B2089 Catts Green and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 and 29 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2165 Horns Cross/Northiam Road, Northiam  & Staplecross)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025)

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Horns Cross/Northiam Road – from the junction with A28 Northiam Road to the junction with B2165 Cripps Corner Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A28 Northiam Road – B2089 Chitcombe Road, Tank Hill, Whorne Woods, Catts Green – B2165 Cripps Corner Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 26 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 August and 16 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Netherfield Road – from the junction with U6315 Darvel Down to the junction with U6320 Netherfield Way.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C96 Netherfield Road, Netherfield Hill, Netherfield Road – A2100 London Road, Ten SixtySix roundabout – A271 North Trade Road – B2096 Kane Hythe Road – C96 Netherfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 26 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 August and 2 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
