Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Speed Restrictions due to Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Kennel Lane, Great Burstead)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) &

(Noak Hill Road, Great Burstead)

(Temporary Introduction of 30 MPH Speed Limit)

Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Kennel Lane, Great Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Noak Hill Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 160m in a south easterly direction.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of Noak Hill Road, Great Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 125m north east of its junction with Laindon Common Road for a distance of approximately 165m in both directions.

The closure/restriction are scheduled to commence on 29th August 2025 for 47 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40040733638/EP4001279028 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while road and footway construction works are undertaken by GTM.

An alternative route is available via Noak Hill Road Roundabout, A129, A176, Hickstars Lane and vice versa (with access only into Kennel Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Pattiswick Square, Fryerns)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Pattiswick Square, Fryerns in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Goldhanger Cross to its junction with Pattiswick Corner a distance of approximately 80m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388210 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway patching and bollard repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Pattiswick Square, The Fremnells and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Southend Arterial Road, Dunton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Dunton in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with High Road North for a distance of approximately 310m in an easterly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Dunton in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 580m west of its junction with Southend Arterial Road Slip Road from Upper Mayne to A127 Westbound for a distance of approximately 280m in a westerly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 24 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20157868817 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while footbridge refurbishment works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A127, A128, A13, A176, A127 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 14th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Woodside Avenue, Thundersley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Woodside Avenue, Thundersley in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Oak Walk to its junction with Seamore Avenue a distance of approximately 205m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th August 2025 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001093007 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Woodside Avenue, Rushbottom Lane, Stansfield Road, Seamore Avenue and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
