What is happening?
GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY CLOSURE C179 ROAD FROM WICKWATER LANE TO CERNEY WICK LANE (SOUTH CERNEY PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C179 Road from Wickwater Lane to Cerney Wick Lane outside of the property known as “Box House” to outside the property known as “Beehurst” for a distance of approximately 75 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Network Plus.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401462 ROAD FROM VILLAGE GREEN TO TARLTON CHURCH (KEMBLE PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401462 Road from Village Green to Tarlton Church from its junction with No. 70 to outside the property known as “No.68” for a distance of approximately 36 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for new water connection works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE A417 LONDON STREET (FAIRFORD TOWN) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the A417 London Street Road from outside the property known as No. 29 to outside the property known as “Hyperion House” for a distance of approximately 81 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for drainage works.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS (FAIRFORD PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the lengths of roads as detailed in the Schedule below.

The reason for the said closures is for lining and signing works.
There will be no waiting, stopping or loading permitted throughout the duration of the said works.
The said roads are expected to be closed on a rolling programme commencing 25th August 2025 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the said closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures taking effect. This Order may permit the said closures in one day, or simultaneously requested. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 29th August 2025.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401548 TREWSBURY ROAD (COATES PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401548 Trewsbury Road from “The Road from Trewsbury Road to Railway Line” to outside of the property known as “Watershed Stables” for a distance of approximately 119 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for Laying Openreach Duct.
The said road is expected to be closed from 26th August 2025 to 27th August 2025 (09:30hrs to 15:30hrs each day only) or until the works have been completed.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY BSC 46 & UNCLASSIFIED HIGHWAY ROAD NUMBER 50929 (SOUTH CERNEY COTSWOLD DISTRICT)
Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an Order to temporarily close under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of the Public Bridleway and unclassified Highway as detailed in the Schedule below.
SCHEDULE
Part of Public Bridleway BSC 46 extending in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 200 metres as noted on the plan by a solid black line marked A to B.
Part of the Unclassified Highway Road Number 50929 (Road from the street to country boundary near Hailstone Hill) from a point extending in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 200 metres as indicated on the plan by a solid black line marked C to D in the Parish of South Cerney.
The reason for the said closures is that public sewer installation works are being undertaken in the area.
The Order will come into force on the 18th August 2025 and it is anticipated that the Public Bridleway and Unclassified Highway will be closed until 30th September 2025. After this extension if the works are not completed, the Council may seek approval by the Secretary of State for an extension to the closure.
The closure of the Public Bridleway and Unclassified Highway will be phased so that only one section is closed at a time. Advance warning signs will be displayed on site to show when each section will be closed.
Alternative Route
Public Bridleway – Via the parallel unclassified highway as shown on the order plan and signed on site.
Unclassified Highway – No through road for vehicles. The alternative route for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders is via the parallel public bridleway shown on the order plan and signed in site.
Emergency access and pedestrian access to adjoining premises will be maintained.
