Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Work

What is happening?

(Kelvedon Road, Tolleshunt D’Arcy)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Kelvedon Road, Tolleshunt D’Arcy in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 370m north west of its junction with North Street for a distance of approximately 1400m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th August 2025 for 2 nights (19.00 – 05.00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387331 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via B1023, B1026, Beckingham Road, Tolleshunt D’Arcy, Beckingham Street, School Road, The Street, Loamy Hill Road, B1022, Station Road, B1023 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

(Streetworks No.1) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Maldon, as detailed in the Schedule.

The works are scheduled to commence after 7th August 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the arrangements via a letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while micro ducting works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

The Order will come into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Schedule

Station Road, Wickham Bishops

From its junction with Church Road to Langford Road a distance of approximately 1165m.

Alternative Route:

Diversion 1: B1018, Langford Road, Maypole Road, Blacksmiths Lane, Church Road and vice versa.

Diversion 2: Wickham Hall Lane onto diversion 1.

Wickham Hall Lane, Wickham Bishops

From its junction with Station Road, for a distance of approximately 900m in a southerly then south westerly direction.

Alternative Route:

Diversion 1: B1018, Station Road and vice versa.

Diversion 2: Grange Road, Roots Lane, Blacksmiths Lane, Church Road, Station Road and vice versa.

(Batts Road, Steeple)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Batts Road, Steeple in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 935m north west then north east then north west of its junction with Foxhall Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC454-WG6D122R – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while frame and cover repair/replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Batts Road, Foxhall Road, Highlands Hill, Green Lane, Grange Avenue, Steeple Road, Maldon Road, The Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
