Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
B2162 Collier Street, Collier Street (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2162 Collier Street, Collier Street, on or after 7th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 01:05 and 06:35 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Claygate, B2162 Maidstone Road, The Heath, Goudhurst Road, Ballards Hill, Summerhill, Winchet Hill, B2079 Goudhurst Road, B2079 West End, B2079 Church Green, B2079 High Street, B2079 Maidstone Road, Underlyn Lane, Green Lane, B2162 Collier Street and vice versa.
Boarley Lane, Sandling, ME14 3BS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Boarley Lane, Sandling, on or after 4th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Boarley Oast. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
Clapper Lane, Staplehurst, TN12 0RG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clapper Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 3rd September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction of A229 Maidstone Road and the junction with Grave Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Clapper Lane, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Station Road, Marden Road, Clapper Lane and vice versa.
Farleigh Lane & Glebe Lane, Barming, ME16 9EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Farleigh Lane & Glebe Lane, Barming, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 43 days or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed as per the below schedule:

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Sheals Crescent, Old Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, Station Hill, Farleigh Bridge and Farleigh Lane.
The alternative Route for any Northbound traffic is via Farleigh Lane, Farleigh Bridge, Station Hill, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 College Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A20 The Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A26 Tonbridge Road and Farleigh Lane.
Glebe Lane, Barming - 8th September 2025 to 22nd September 2025
Will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with A26 Tonbridge Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A26 Tonbridge Road, Farleigh Lane, Glebe Lane and vice versa.
Florence Road & Charles Street, Maidstone, ME16 8ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Florence Road & Charles Street, Maidstone, on or after 20th August 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.
Florence Road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 11. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way order on Florence Road will be suspended the entire length.
The one-way order on Charles Street will be suspended from outside number 9 to outside number 29.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bower Lane, Douglas Road, Charles Street and vice versa.
Linton Hill, Linton, TN12 9BH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Linton Hill, Linton, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stile Bridge, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A229 Linton Hill, B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 North Street, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 Headcorn Road, New Barn Road, Hawkenbury Road, Headcorn Road, A229 Station Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road and vice versa.
Lughorse Lane, Yalding, ME18 6ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lughorse Lane, Yalding, on or after 22nd August 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Willow Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barn Hill, Upper Barn Hill, Hilltop, Shingle Barn Lane, B2010 Yalding Hill, Lughorse Lane and vice versa.
Northumberland Road, Cumberland Avenue & Oxford Road, Maidstone, ME15 9UL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Northumberland Road, Cumberland Avenue & Oxford Road, Maidstone, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 16 days or until the works have been completed.
Northumberland Road will be closed from the junction with A274 Sutton Road to the junction with Willington Street, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Cumberland Avenue will be closed between the junction with Northumberland Road and the junction with Suffolk Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Oxford Road will be closed between the junction with Northumberland Road and the junction with Suffolk Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 Sutton Road, Willington Street and vice versa.
Otham Street, Otham, ME15 8RP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Otham Street, Otham, on or after 20th August 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Cart Lodge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Otham Street, Simmonds Lane, Honey Lane, New Road, A274 Sutton Road, Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, Otham Lane, Green Hill, Otham Street and vice versa.
Pilgrims Way, Thurnham, ME14 3LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing and tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Thurnham, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Water Lane for a distance approximately 765 metres in an East direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Thurnham Lane, Ware Street, The Green, The Street, Roundwell, A20 Ashford Road, Eyhorne Street, Upper Street, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.
Spenny Lane, Collier Street (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spenny Lane, Collier Street, on or after 7th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 01:05 and 06:35 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spenny Lane, Claygate Road, Jarmons Lane, B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Claygate, Spenny Lane and vice versa.
The Street, Stockbury, ME9 7UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Stockbury, on or after 1st September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stockbury Village Hall. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Bull Lane, Cowstead Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Cradles Road, Hill Green Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic from Hill Green Road is via South Street Road, Chalky Road, A249 Maidstone Road, Church Hill and Church Lane.
The alternative route for any southbound through traffic from Bull Lane is via Church Lane, Church Hill, A249 Maidstone Road, Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Maidstone Road, Chalky Road and South Street Road.
Yeoman Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4QL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Yeoman Lane, Bearsted, on or after 22nd August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 58. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Yeoman Lane, The Green, The Street, Roundwell, A20 Ashford Road, Yeoman Lane and vice versa.
