Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Restrictions Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Frith Lane (Part), Manningford; from its junction with C261 to its junction with Primrose Lane to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out brickwork repairs and clear vegetation. Alternative route via Primrose Lane – Dragon Lane – C52 – A345 – C 38 – Hilcott – C261 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 5 days. For further information please contact Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd on 07599 534420.

B) A3102 (Part), Calne; from its roundabout junction with Oxford Road to its junction with Station Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction works and other associated works. Alternative route via Stanier Road – Oxford Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required until 19 September 2025. C) C246 (Part), Potterne and Worton; from its junction with A360 Boundary House for a distance of approximately 110m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out repair works. Alternative route via C246 (unaffected length) – C20 – A360 – C246 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

D) Olivermead Lane, Dauntsey; from its junction with C45 for its entire length to enable Wessex Water to carry out works to protect heritage assets at settlement works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 03 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 2 days. E) Raffin Lane (Part), Pewsey; from its junction with Raffin Court for a distance of approximately 156m in a westerly direction to enable telecoms to excavate and lay ducting. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. F) Hollow Way (Part), Lyneham and Bradenstoke; from its junction with Hill View Lane to its junction with Brook Lane to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out works to install a new service connection and other associated works. Alternative route via Hollow Way (unaffected length) – C136 – C136 Hill – Hollow Way (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 5 days. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

G) C20 (Part), Worton; from its property known as No.98 High Street to its property known as No.136 High Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out construction of priority system and other associated works. Alternative route via C20 (unaffected length) – A361 – A360 – C20 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and the closure will be required weekdays between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 until 29 August 2025. H) Village Street (Part), Alton; from outside its property known as Monks Hollow to outside its property known as Pear Tree Cottage to enable Wessex Water to repair and replace chamber. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. I) Back Lane, Luckington and Alderton; from its junction with Alderton Road to its junction with The Street to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via The Street – Alderton Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 August 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.

Orders A to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

A) Bridleway 34 (Part), Urchfont; from its junction with Byway 34, Urchfont to its junction with Bridleway 45, Urchfont.

B) Bridleway 45, Urchfont; from its junction with Bridleway 34, Urchfont to its junction with Crookwood Lane.

C) Bridleway 12, Easterton; from its junction with Byway 9, Easterton to its junction with Footpath 7, Potterne to enable access for contractor to complete geotechnical/drainage works to stabilise railway embankment at Forest Farm/Potterne Park Farm. Alternative route via existing highways and public rights of way. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required until 28 November 2025.

D) Footpath 30 (Part), Marlborough; from its junction with Cherry Orchard to its junction with Garden Close to enable widening and upgrading of the existing footpath. Alternative route via existing highways and public rights of way. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required until 10 October 2025. E) Byway 14 (Part), North Newton; from its junction with the C38 for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction to enable dig out and relay a sunken tarmac area that covers in edge of carriageway. Alternative route via existing public rights of way and highways. This Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for 5 days. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, CHIRTON) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

(Previously advertised as 2024)

Notice is hereby given that on 30 July 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on C51 Patney Road, Chirton – from its junction with Park View for a distance of 28 metres in a northerly direction;

C51 The Hollow, C51 The Street, Conock, Miller Close, Park View, Thumwood Terrace and Yew Tree Close, Chirton – the complete lengths;

C241 Small Street, Chirton – from its junction with C51 The Street for a distance of 266 metres in an easterly direction.

A copy of the Order can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025.

NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

WILTSHIRE COUNCIL THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE DEVISES RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA DATED 1952 AS MODIFIED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

WILTSHIRE COUNCIL MARSTON PATH NO. 9 AND WORTON PATH NO. 11 DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above order, made on 03 July 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by upgrading that part of Marston path no.9 currently recorded as a bridleway to a restricted byway. The route leads from near to End Farm to its junction with Worton 11 (Church Lane) at the parish boundary, length approx. 430 metres which as shown on order plan 2.

Also by upgrading Worton path 11 (Church Lane) to a restricted byway from the parish boundary north to the Seend road, C.20. Approx length 220 metres width as shown on order plan 2. A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at the Rights of Way Section, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN 0900 – 1700 weekdays. Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to S Madgwick, Rights of Way and Countryside, Wiltshire Council, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN quoting ref. SAM/ MARSWORT11 not later than 1700 on 22 September 2025, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. If no representations or objections are duly made to the order (or if any so made are withdrawn) the Wiltshire Council instead, of submitting the order to the Secretary of State for confirmation, may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
