Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Rolfe Lane, New Romney, TN28 8HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rolfe Lane, New Romney, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 29 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Ashford Road for approximately 100m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rolfe Lane, Cockreed Lane, Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sandling Road, Sandling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Sandling, on or after 18th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Sandacre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandling Road, The Green, Brockhill Road, Bartholomew Lane, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Stanford Intersection, B2068 Stanford Intersection and A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Underhill Road, Folkestone, CT19 4QJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow railway works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Underhill Road, Folkestone, on or after 3rd September 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025 (AMENDMENT 2) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order will revise parking and waiting restrictions in the following roads in Folkestone:

•    
Ingles Road

•    
Christ Church Road (between Bouverie Road West and Ingles Road)

•    
Manor Road (between Bouverie Road West and Ingles Road)

Between 8am and 6pm, Mondays - Sundays (including bank and public holidays), parking will be restricted to Permit Holders (A1) only in Ingles Road

Parking places with a time limit of 1 hour (no return within two hours) between 8am and 6pm Mondays - Sundays (including bank and public holidays) - except for Permit Holders (A1) - will be provided in Christ Church Road and Manor Road.

Permits will be available to a resident of the road mentioned in the second paragraph of this Notice, and to any business or organisation with vehicle(s) essential to its operation.

An annual resident permit will cost £45, and resident visitor permits will cost £10.00 per 5 parking sessions. An annual business permit will cost £90.

Waiting will be prohibited at all times in any part of the road mentioned in the second paragraph of this Notice where parking is not allowed.

Your objection must specify the grounds on which it is made. For your objection or comments to be considered they must reach us by 5pm on Friday 5th September. For legal reasons we cannot accept any objection or comment over the phone or in person.

Various Roads, Old Romney (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PARKING & 50MPH, 40MPH & 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow Sycamore Farm Festival to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rhee Wall Layby, Old Romney, on or after 5th September 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 08:00 and 01:00 only.

Rhee Wall Layby will be closed opposite Sycamore Farm.

Mandatory 50MPH, 40MPH & 30MPH speed limits will be imposed as detailed below:

Road Name: A259 Rhee Wall
Extent: 50MPH speed limit imposed from A259 Rhee Wall Roundabout to the junction of Tillery Lane.

Road Name: A259 Rhee Wall
Extent: 40MPH speed limit imposed from the junction of Tillery Lane to just past the junction of Eighteen Acre Lane.

Road Name: A259 Rhee Wall
Extent: 30MPH speed limit imposed from just past the junction of Eighteen Acre Lane to just past the junction of Millbank Lane.

Road Name: A259 Rhee Wall
Extent: 40MPH speed limit imposed from just past the junction of Millbank Lane to outside Willow Springs.

Road Name: A259 Rhee Wall
Extent: 50MPH speed limit imposed from outside Willow Springs to outside Plum Tree Farm.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed as detailed below:
