What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U2061 Wish Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Wish Road – from the junction with A259 South Street to the junction with U2056 Blackwater Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via U2056 Blackwater Road – U2063 Cornfield Terrace – A259 South Street and southbound via A259 South Street – U2060 Hardwick Road – U2056 Blackwater Road.

The Order commences 27 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 27 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2152 Ceylon Place, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ceylon Place – from the junction with U2148 Bourne Street to the junction with A259 Seaside.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2148 Bourne Street – A259 Seaside Road, Seaside and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 August and 10 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U2259/U2134 Terminus Road/U2133 Bolton Road/ B2136 Langney Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Terminus Road – from the junction with U2132 Cornfield Road to the junction with U2133 Bolton Road.

Terminus Road – from the junction with U2133 Bolton Road to the junction with B2136 Langney Road.

Bolton Road – from the junction with U2135 Lismore Road to the junction with U2134 Terminus Road.

Langney Road – from the junction with U2134 Terminus Road to the junction with U2134 Susans Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Memorial roundabout, South Street, Gildredge Road, Ashford Road, Susans Road.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 August 2025 and 30 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2103 King Edwards Parade/B2103 Grand Parade/

B2106 Marine Parade/U2052 Wilmington Square/U2048 Ascot Close/ U2179 Wartling Road/B2106 Devonshire Place/U2145 Cavendish Place & Elms Avenue, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Eastbourne Borough Council to facilitate Eastbourne Airbourne 2025, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

King Edwards Parade – from the junction with U2040 Silverdale Road to the junction with U2065 Lascelles Terrace.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 11 and 19 August 2025. For diversion route see below.

Grand Parade – from the junction with U2145 Queens Gardens to the junction with U2065 Lascelles Terrace.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 11 and 19 August 2025. For diversion route see below. Access will be maintained for residents of Elms Avenue. Marine Parade – from the junction with U2145 Queens Gardens to the junction with U2145 Marine Parade Road.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 11 and 19 August 2025. For diversion route see below.

Wilmington Square (Both Sides) – from the junction with U2053 Compton Street to the junction with B2103 King Edwards Parade.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 11 and 19 August 2025. For diversion route see below. Access and parking will be maintained for residents and carers.

Ascot Close – for its full extent.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 13 and 17 August 2025. No diversion route necessary. Access will be maintained for residents.

Wartling Road – for its full extent.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 13 and 17 August 2025. No diversion route necessary.

Devonshire Place – from the junction with U2136 Compton Street to the junction with B2106 Grand Parade.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 13 and 17 August 2025. For diversion route see below.

Cavendish Place/Elms Avenue – from the junction with A259 Seaside Road to the junction with B2106 Grand Parade.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 13 and 18 August 2025. For diversion route see below.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with alternative routes for through traffic eastbound via U2145 Marine Parade Road, Colonnade Gardens – A259 Seaside Road – U2146 Cavendish Place – U2144 Pevensey Road – U2135 Lismore Road – U2133 Bolton Road – A259 Memorial roundabout – B2106 Devonshire Place – U2136 Compton Street – U2053 Compton Street – U2040 Silverdale Road and westbound via U2040 Silverdale Road – U2053 Compton Street – B2106 Devonshire Place – A259 Memorial roundabout, Trinity Trees, Seaside Road – U2145 Marine Parade Road.

The Order commences 11 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until events are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closures will be in place as set out above depending upon the weather conditions.
