Westmorland & Furness, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5024, BOUTH, C5049 FINSTHWAITE AND THE C5040, THE SQUARE, CARTMEL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the:
(i) C5024, Bouth, from a point approx. 300 metres north west of its junction with the U5218, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 85 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5024, C5023 and the A590. Duration: From 26th August 2025 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROW/15155)
(ii) C5049, Finsthwaite, from its junction with the U5222, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 45 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5049, U5220, U5221, Finsthwaite Lane (C5049), C5050, A590 and the C5026. Duration: From 9th September 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/15353)
(iii) C5040 The Square, Cartmel, from a point approx. 55 metres east of its junction with Cavendish Street, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of approx. 20 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5040, C5041 and the C5053. Duration: From 27th October 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/15245)

The Order will come into operation on 26th August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
