Skelwith Bridge, Temporary Prohibition & Restriction Of Waiting & Permitted Parking

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (HIGH OXEN FELL ROAD AND THE U5003 & A593 SKELWITH) (TEMPORARY NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, due to the inconsiderate parking causing obstruction to road users and emergency service vehicles, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and from loading/unloading at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the following sections of road:

  1. High Oxen Fell Road, Skelwith Bridge (both sides) from its junction with the A593 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 75m.

  2. A593 Skelwith Bridge (both sides) from a point approx. 450m north east of its junction Smithy Brow extending in a northerly direction for approx. 50m.

  3. U5003 Skelwith Bridge (both sides) from its junction with High Oxen Fell Road extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 70m.

This follows emergency notices dated 4 July 2025 and 25 July 2025.

The Order will come into operation on 15 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
