What is happening?

FOOTPATH NO.10, STILLINGTON TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 8th August 2025, the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said footpath should be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath.
The effect of the Order, which came into effect on 8th August 2025, is to temporarily close the section of Footpath No.10, Stillington which runs through the underpass between West Street and Ironmasters Way, Stillington, a distance of approximately 50 metres. The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of six months, unless extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. An alternative route will be signed on site.
Access for pedestrians and emergency services will not be maintained.
