PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. BCC/512 (PT)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER (NO.8) 2025
The above named order, made on the 5 August 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the public footpath running from:
• grid reference 362859 169696, starting at Scotland Lane, in a south-westerly, south-easterly and southerly direction for a distance of approximately 699 metres to grid reference 362890 169144; to a line running from:
• grid reference 362868 169674, starting at Scotland Lane, in a generally southerly direction for approximately 94 metres to grid reference 362880 169587, then in a generally easterly direction for approximately 45 metres to grid reference 362924 169584 (being an entrance in the boundary of woodland into the adjacent field), then in a generally southerly direction for approximately 401 metres to grid reference 363003 169194 (being a large gap in the vegetation within the field), then in a generally southwesterly direction for a distance of approximately 129 metres to grid reference 362890 169144, being a total length of 669 metres with a width of approximately 1.5 metres along its entire length as shown on the order map accompanying the order.
The order is also made under Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (the 1981 Act) because it appears to the authority that the City Council of Bristol definitive map and statement require modification in consequence of the occurrence of an event specified in section 53(3)(a)(i) of the 1981 Act, namely the diversion of a highway shown or required to be shown in the map and statement.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Bristol City Council, City Hall, Bristol BS1 5TR, during normal office hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at a price of 30p. Copies of the order and order map may be sent by second class post on receipt of a written request at a price of £6 to cover the Council’s administrative costs.
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Service Director, Legal and Democratic Services, City Hall PO Box 3300, Bristol BS1 9LN, quoting reference DB3/14096529, not later than 19 September 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Bristol City Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order.
