Farmers Road, Bryncoch - Temporary Road Closure to Enable Welsh Water to Carry Out Civil Engineering Works

What is happening?

NEATH PORT TALBOT COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL CASTELL-NEDD PORT TALBOT FARMERS ROAD, BRYNCOCH (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). 

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. 

During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed. The Order is necessary to enable Welsh Water to carry out civil engineering works in the road and for the Highways Section to carry out any ancillary highway maintenance works resulting therefrom. 

The Order will come into force on the 4th September 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. It is anticipated that the works will take 3 days to complete. 

SCHEDULE 

Farmers Road will be closed from its junction with Main Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 220m along its length. 

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Main Road, Tyn Yr Heol, Dyffryn Road and Lane between Dyffryn Road and the unaffected section of Farmers Road. 

Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
