Westmorland & Furness, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5101 DENT, C5097 LEIGHTON BECK ROAD, SLACK HEAD, C5026 LAKESIDE NEAR FINSTHWAITE AND B5285 CONISTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the following:

(i) C5101 Dent, from a point adjacent to a property known as High Chapel Barn, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1.2km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5101, U5509, A684, and Loftus Hill

Duration: From 26th August 2025 for approx. 3 nights during the hours of 2100 and 0600 (Ref: TTRO\W\15268)

(ii) C5097 Leighton Beck Road, Slack Head, from its junction with Hill Crest Drive, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 110m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5097, C498 Brackenthwaite Road, C501 Eight Acre Lane & Nineteen Acre Lane, and A6.

Duration: From 28th August 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTRO\W\15312)

(iii) C5026 Lakeside near Finsthwaite from its junction with the C5049, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1.1km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5026 B5285 Near Sawrey, C5019 Hawkshead, A593 Coniston, A5084 Torver, and A590 Greenodd.

Duration: From 8th September 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTRO\W\15265)

(iv) B5285 Coniston, from a point adjacent to a property known as Coniston Inn, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 140m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5285, B5286, and A593.

Duration: From 15th September 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTRO\W\15425)

The Order will come into operation on 26th August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
