NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Hampson Crescent, Handforth
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic:
Prohibition of traffic – Hampson Crescent, Handforth – from the junction with Meriton Road to the property no. 19 Hampson Crescent.
The alternative route will be via Hampson Crescent, Meriton Road and vice versa
Prohibition of traffic to be suspended.
The order will come into operation on Monday 1 September 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway. Although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 12 September 2025.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Bexton Road, Knutsford
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic:
Prohibition of traffic – Bexton Road, Knutsford – from the junction of Wedgwood Drive to the junction of Arden Avenue.
The alternative route will be via Bexton Road, Blackhill Lane, Tabley Lane, Toft Road, King Edward Road, Stanley Road which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Monday 11 August 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 5 days. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by Monday 15 October 2025.

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL – (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Amendment No.19) 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 38, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 61 and 124 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to vary the above Order by the addition of the side Act.
The effect of the proposed Order will be to:
Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Prohibition and restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by:
• Revoking No Waiting At Any Time prohibitions as outlined in Schedule 1 below, and replacing the No Waiting At Any Time prohibitions as outlined in schedule 2 below and by replacing Map Tile Nos A140, Z141 and A4140 in the Consolidation Order with the revised plans.
The restrictions and/or prohibitions imposed by this proposed Order shall be in addition to and not in derogation of any restrictions or requirements imposed by any regulations made or having effect as if made under the Act or by or under any other enactment.
SCHEDULE 1 – (Revocation of No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions)
Wilmslow Road (east side)
• From a point 383m south of South Acre Drive, for 12m in a southerly direction.
Wilmslow Road (west side)
• From a point 700m south of South Acre Drive, for 25m in a southerly direction.
SCHEDULE 2 – (Introduction of No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions)
Wilmslow Road (both sides)
• From South Acre Drive, for 36.5m in a southerly direction.
Manchester Road (both sides)
• From a point 583m south of Dean Drive, for 162m in a southerly direction.
Manchester Road (north side)
• From a point 77.0m north of Dean Drive, for 101.5m in a northerly direction.

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL – Speed Limit Order – (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Amendment No. 8) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 82, 83, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.
The effect of the proposed Order will be to:
Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by revoking the 40mph speed limit as outlined in Schedule 1 below and by replacing Map Tile Nos A4140, A4180, A4140, AC139, AD139 and AE139 in the Consolidation Order schedules.
The restrictions and/or prohibitions imposed by this proposed Order shall be in addition to and not in derogation of any restrictions or requirements imposed by any regulations made or having effect as if made under the Act or by or under any other enactment.

NOTICE OF INTENTION – (Wilmslow Road, Handforth, Manchester Road and Dean Drive, Wilmslow) Proposed Construction of Vertical Traffic Calming Measures 2025
Notice is hereby given that Cheshire East Borough Council proposes in exercise of its powers under section 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, to construct traffic calming measures at the following locations:
Wilmslow Road
Approximately 98 metres south of the junction with South Acre Drive;
Manchester Road
Approximately 30 metres north of the junction with Dean Drive;
Dean Drive
Approximately 8 metres east of its junction with Manchester Road.

The Cheshire East Borough Council (Public Footpath No. 29 Parish of Knutsford) Public Path Extinguishment Order 2025
The above order, made on the 11th July 2025, under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, extinguishes the full length of Public Footpath No. 29 in the Parish of Knutsford commencing at OS grid reference SJ 7520 7872 (Point A on plan HA 158) and running in a generally east / north easterly direction for approximately 115 metres to OS grid reference SJ 7521 7877 (Point B on plan HA 158) at its junction with Old Market Place.
Copies of the order and map have been deposited and may be seen free of charge during normal office hours in the Rights of Way Unit at the office listed at the end and at the offices of Director of Governance and Compliance Cheshire East Council (Municipal Buildings, C/O Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe CW1 2LL).
Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Director of Governance and Compliance Cheshire East Council Municipal Buildings, C/O Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe CW1 2LL no later than 5th September 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Cheshire East Borough Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpaths No. 8 Parish of Plumley and Public Footpath No. 5 Parish of Tabley Inferior
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That length of Public Footpath No. 8 in the Parish of Plumley which commences at its junction with the Chester Road (A556) at OSGR SJ 7181 7627 and runs in a generally easterly direction for approx. 610m to its junction with Public Footpath No. 5 Parish of Tabley Inferior at OSGR SJ 7175 7683, then runs generally northwards for approx. 610m to its junction with the Chester Road at OSGR SJ 7190 7671.
The Order is necessary to protect the public from danger due to a missing footbridge.
The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 25th July 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That length of Public Footpath No. 71 in the Parish of Mobberley which commences at the junction with Footpath No. 70 in the Parish of Mobberley at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 7729 8224 and runs in a generally easterly direction for approx. 185m to the junction with Pepper Street at OSGR SJ 7762 8233.
The order is necessary to protect the public from danger due to an unsafe footbridge.
The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 25 July 2023 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed.
