(Bag Lane, Atherton) – (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Bag Lane, Atherton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Bag Lane, Atherton at its junction with Market Street, commencing on 5th October for one day only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Mealhouse Lane, Church Street and Market Street
The Order is necessary to allow a new water connection
(Cross Street, Hindley) – (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Cross Street, Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Cross Street, Hindley at its junction with Wigan Road (one-way only entering Cross Street from Wigan Road) commencing on 6th October 2025 to 10th October 2025.
The alternative route for traffic is: Wigan Road and Market Street
The Order is necessary to allow a new water connection
