Saighton, Proposed Speed Limit Reductions & Consolidation Of Existing Limits

CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL

TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL (SAIGHTON AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order will be to introduce:

(i) a 20 mph speed limit on the following lengths of roads:

– Chester Lane, Saighton, from its junction with Chapel Lane/ Saighton Lane for a distance of 90 metres in a north-westerly direction;

– Chapel Lane Spur, Saighton, from its junction with Chapel Lane to its junction with Chester Lane, a distance of 37 metres; and

– Chapel Lane/Saighton Lane, Saighton, from a point 465 metres south of its junction with Chester Lane for a distance of 475 metres in north-easterly direction

(ii) a 50 mph speed limit on Chapel Lane, Saighton, from a point 45 metres south of its junction with Platts Lane to a point 465 metres south of its junction with Chester Lane, an approximate distance of 1215 metres.

The Order will also consolidate existing speed limits.

All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing to the undersigned by 29th August 2025 and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. Any representations relating to the Order should specify the title of the Order and may become available for public inspection.
