South Moor - Temporary Road Closures due to Drainage and Manhole Works

JOHN STREET, PINE STREET,

POPLAR STREET, MUNDELL STREET,

PARMETER STREET, MOORE STREET REAR

AND CHARLOTTE STREET, SOUTH MOOR)

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road.

Rydal Avenue: A 151 metre length from the side of Number 1 Windermere Terrace extending southwards to the side of Number 1 Rydal Avenue; a 131 metre length from the front of Number 1 extending eastwards to the junction with Park Road and a 47 metre length to the side of Number 1 Rydal Avenue;

School Lane: A 58 metre length from the junction with Rydal Avenue extending eastwards to the junction with Fern Avenue and School Terrace Rear;

Fern Avenue Rear: A 141 metre length to the rear of Numbers 26b to 51 Fern Avenue;

Salisbury Street: A 37 metre length to the side of Numbers 51 and 1 Fern Avenue and Number 1 Rose Avenue;

John Street: A 10 metre length to the front of Numbers 1 and 54 John Street;

Pine Street: A 54 metre length from the side of Number 1 John Street extending southwards to the rear of Numbers 3 and 4 Pine Street and a 52 metre length from the front of Numbers 7 and 19 Pine Street to the junction with Park Road;

Poplar Street: A 14 metre length to the front of Numbers 1, 2 and 101 Poplar Street;

Mundell Street: A 44 metre length from the junction with Park Road extending eastwards to the junction leading to Parmeter Street;

Parmeter Street: A 109 metre length to the front of Numbers 1 to 18 and 19 to 27 Parmeter Street;

Moore Street Rear: A 69 metre length from the junction with Park Road extending eastwards to the side of Number 27 Parmeter Street;

Charlotte Street: A 27 metre length from the junction leading to Parmeter Street to the junction leading to Parmeter Street and Charlotte Street Rear to enable trial holes, CCTV/manhole surveys and installation of new drainage and manhole works to be undertaken.

Throughout the period of the closure, any load diversions will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed phased works will commence from 8am on Tuesday 26/8/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 16 months. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
