THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 11 EASTBOUND & WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS & SLIP ROADS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M62 Motorway in the Borough of Warrington, in the County of Cheshire to allow the Birchwood Motorway Service Area Interchange Improvement works; to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M62 Motorway:
i. the eastbound and westbound carriageways, from the last point at which the exit slip road at J11 leaves the carriageway, to the first point at which the entry slip road at J11 joins the carriageway (subject to signage);
ii. the eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at J11 (subject to signage).
The prohibitions are expected to be in place overnight between 22:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on Monday 1 September 2025 and ending on Monday 22 December 2025 (subject to signage).
However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M62 Motorway and local roads will be well signed.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, special-forces vehicles, works vehicles, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
