HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTIONS 118A AND SECTION 120(3A)

Unrecorded footpath parish of Grange-over-Sands Rail Crossing extinguishment order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under sections 118A and 120(3A) of the Highways Act 1980, proposes to make an order to:

Extinguish the whole width and length of unrecorded footpath situated at Bailey Lane in the parish of Grange-over-Sands from grid reference 340800 477786 (point A) southwards for about 9 metres, at a maximum width of 5 metres, to grid reference 340803 477778 (point B).

A copy of the draft Order and Order map have been sent to Westmorland and Furness Council and will be available to view free of charge Wednesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 10am-3pm or by appointment at Grange-over-Sands Town Council, Council Offices, Victoria Hall, Main Street, Grange-over-Sands Cumbria, LA11 6DP. Copies of the Order and Map are also available on Gov.uk Rights of Way order information: start date notices, inquiry & hearing notices and rejection letters published in 2024 and 2025 – GOV.UK.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Zoe McPhail, e-mail Zoe.Mcphail@planninginspectorate.gov.uk, 0303 444 5481 (3A Eagle Wing, The Planning Inspectorate, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol BS1 6PN) not later than 4 September 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made, quoting reference ROW/3337872.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Secretary of State may make and confirm the Order as an unopposed Order.
