Trimley St Mary - Prohibition of Waiting

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF SUFFOLK COASTAL) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (PARISH OF TRIMLEY ST MARY) (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.21) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 1 of Map Tile HK146 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile(s), and substitute revision 2 of Map Tile HK145 in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tile into the above-named 2019 order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

‘No waiting at any time’ on:

• Addington Road (U3113), both sides, Trimley St Mary, from its junction with Station Road, east for a distance of 10m

• High Road (C370), South side, Trimley St Mary, from a point 10m west of Kingsbury Road, east for 20m

• Kingsbury Road (U3113), both sides, Trimley St Mary, from its junction with High Road, south for a distance of 10m

• New Road (U3113), both sides, Trimley St Mary, from its junction with Station Road, east for a distance of 10m

• Second Avenue (U3113), both sides, Trimley St Mary, from its junction with Station Road, west for a distance of 10m

• Station Road (U3113), East side, Trimley St Mary, from a point 10m north of the junction with Addington Road, south for a distance of 25m

• Station Road (U3113), East side, Trimley St Mary, from a point 10m north of New Road, south for a distance of 10m

• Station Road (U3113), East side, Trimley St Mary, from the junction with Station entrance south for a distance of 10m

• Station Road (U3113), West side, Trimley St Mary, from a point 10m north of the junction with The Avenue, south for a distance of 20m

• Station Road (U3113), West side, Trimley St Mary, from a point 10m north of Second Avenue, south for a distance of 20m

• Station Road (U3113), West side, Trimley St Mary, from a point between nos. 1 & 2 Goshawk Terrace, south for a distance of 6m

• The Avenue (U3113), both sides, from its junction with Station Road, west for a distance of 10m.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Felixstowe Library, Crescent Road, Felixstowe, IP11 7BY open during Monday 10am - 4pm, Tuesday 9am - 5.30pm, Wednesday 9am - 7.30pm, Thursday and Friday 9am - 5.30pm, Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm.

Objections and any other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Suffolk County Council Legal Services at the address below or at: jacob.davis@suffolk.gov.uk no later than 29/08/2025. Please note that any such correspondence cannot be regarded as confidential and may be inspected by any interested party.
