What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF RIDLEWAY 17, BRANTHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Bridleway 17, Brantham from Brantham Hill for 315 metres northbound to facilitate resurfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. There is no alternative route.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 22/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1102 FORDHAM ROAD, FRECKENHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1102 Fordham Road, Freckenham from 200 metres east of the junction with B1104 for 200 metres eastbound to facilitate reinstatement of the carriageway. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1102, the B1104, the B1382, the A1101, the B1102 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate in two phases from:

  1. 08/08/2025 - 11/08/2025 from 8pm - 6am
  2. 15/08/2025 - 18/08/2025 from 8pm - 6am

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1015 ARCADE STREET AND U1016 MUSEUM STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads

  • U1015 Arcade Street, Ipswich from Museum Street to number 15

  • U1016 Museum Street, Ipswich from number 9 to number 30

This is to facilitate an electrical link box replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Elm Street, the A1022, the A1156 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 22/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5800 DOWNHAM BOULEVARD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5800 Downham Boulevard, Ipswich from Ravenswood Avenue to the school car park to facilitate ducting and cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Downham Boulevard and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 22/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2313 GROMFORD LANE, SNAPE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2313 Gromford Lane, Snape from 180 metres north west of the junction with the B1069 for 390 metres north westbound to facilitate the replacement of electrical poles. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, the B1069, the A1094, Wadd Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 20/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE B1063 HIGH STREET, CLARE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1063 High Street, Clare from Well Lane to Pashlers Alley to facilitate pole replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1063, the A1092 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the B1063 High Street.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 17/08/2025 from 7pm - 11:59pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C301 THE STREET, CRETINGHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C301 The Street, Cretingham from Hill House for 30 metres southbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1120, the B1077, the B1079 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 22/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4133 HEATHERCOFT ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4133 Heathercroft Road, Ipswich from Dryden Road for 30 metres north westbound to facilitate a water main fitting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Dryden Road Ipswich, Shenstone Drive Ipswich, Hazlitt Road Ipswich and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 20/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7130 POUND GREEN, LITTLE THURLOW

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7130 Pound Green, Little Thurlow from Pound Green House for 10 metres southbound to facilitate remedial water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Pound Green, Thurlow Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 19/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7254 LOWER NORTH STREET AND THE U7203 NORTH STREET, HUNDON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads

  • U7254 Lower North Street, Hundon

  • U7203 North Street, Hundon from Lower North Street to Church Street

This is to facilitate flood alleviation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1063, Clare Road, Hundon Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 20/08/2025 from 9am - 3pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8701 PRINCE STREET, SUDBURY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8701 Prince Street, Sudbury from 20 metres south of Gainsborough Road for 20 metres southbound to facilitate a new gas connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Croft Road, the A131 with no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 22/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4710 HOLLOW LANE, CODDENHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4710 Hollow Lane, Coddenham from the junction with Needham Road for 30 metres northbound to facilitate a water pipe repair. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1078, the A140, Bucks Head Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 19/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5109 TURKEY HALL LANE, BACTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5109 Turkey Hall Lane, Bacton from the junction with Pound Hill for 75 metres northbound to facilitate kerb repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1113, Westhorpe Road, Finningham, Finningham Road, Wyverstone Road, Wyverstone, Church Hill, Wyverstone Road, Church Road, Round Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 29/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1076 UPPER BROOK STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1076 Upper Brook Street, Ipswich from Dogs Head Street to Carr Street to facilitate footway and carriageway works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Tacket Street, Orwell Place, Upper Orwell Street, St Margarets Street, vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 03/10/2025 from 8am - 5pm. There will be weekend working. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8507 SHELLEY ROAD, LAYHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8507 Shelley Road, Layham from Kiln House for 70 metres northbound to facilitate ducting installation and construction of new carriageway chamber. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Shelley Road, Layham Road, Road from C727 to C473, Stoke Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 01/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1122 ABBEY ROAD, LEISTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1122 Abbey Road, Leiston from the junction with Carr Avenue to the junction with Lovers Lane to facilitate road surfacing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1119, the B1121, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 22/08/2025 from 7pm - 6am. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY 50MPH AND 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON PART OF THE A12 AND A12 MAIN ROAD, UFFORD, WICKHAM MARKET, PETTISTREE, CAMPSEA ASHE, HACHESTON AND MARLESFORD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for a temporary 50 mph speed restriction on the following roads

  • A12, Ufford from the dual carriageway to the A12, Wickham Market

  • A12, Wickham Market

  • A12, Pettistree

  • A12, Campsea Ashe

  • A12, Hacheston from the A12 Campsea Ashe to 120 metres south of Ashe Road, Hacheston overbridge

There will also be a temporary 40 mph speed restriction on the following roads

  • A12, Hacheston from 120 metres south of Ashe Road overbridge to Main Road, Marlesford. The lay by within this area will be closed.

  • A12, Main Road, Marlesford from the A12 Hacheston to the existing 40 mph signs

This is to facilitate safety during construction of Sizewell C. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/08/2025 - 20/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
