A44, Monkland Road, Stag Batch - Temporary Road Closure due to Private Drainage Installation Works

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: A44, Monkland Road, Stag Batch, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the A44, Monkland Road, Stag Batch, approximately 60m west of Newtown Lane. Grid Ref: 347000 / 258100. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the B4529 onto the A4110 onto the A44 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to private drainage installation works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 25th of August 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 1 week.
