Enfield, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984- SECTION (14.1)

The council of the London Borough of Enfield intend to make the Temporary Traffic Orders described below.

HERTFORD ROAD EN3 - 4573

Reason for 14(1) Order – Essential Water Works

Operational Date and times:

“At any time” on 17 July 2025 for 2 days or until works are completed.

The general effect of the Order would be to close the southbound cycle lane between Nos. 243-245 Hertford Road EN3. Whilst the restrictions are in operation, cyclists would be required to dismount and walk or join the carriageway to continue cycling.

ALSTON ROAD, DYSONS ROAD N18 – 4574

Reason for 14(1) Order – Essential Utility works

Operational Date and times:

“At any time” on 18 August 2025 for 5 days or until works are completed.

The general effect of the Order would be to:

  • Alston Road

    • Close this road and suspend parking from its junction with Dysons Road, westwards for approximately 60 metres; and

  • Dysons Road

    • Close this road and suspend parking on the east side between Nos. 134/136 – 148/150

    Whilst these restrictions are in place local diversions would be in operation.

PEMBROKE AVENUE EN1, SPRINGFIELD ROAD N11, GLOUCESTER ROAD N18, VILLAGE ROAD EN1 – 4575

Reason for 14(1) Order – Essential Highway Works

Operational Date and times:

  • 14 August 2025 between 08:00-18:00 for 1 day or until works are completed

  • 18 August 2025 “at any time” for 16 days or until works are completed

  • 3 September 2025 between 08:00-18:00 for 17 days or until works are completed

  • 29 September 2025 between 08:00-18:00 or 08:00-18:00 for 26 days or until works are completed

The general effect of the Order would be to:

  • Pembroke Avenue

    • Close this road and suspend parking between Hoe Lane and Carterhatch Lane on both sides of the carriageway

  • Springfield Road

    • Close this road and suspend parking from its junction with Palmers Road to a point in line with the common boundary of Nos. 47/49 Springfield Road

  • Gloucester Road

    • Suspend parking between Bridport Road and Somerset Road on both sides of the carriageway

  • Village Road

    • Close this road and suspend parking on both sides of the carriageway between Private Road and London Road

    Whilst these roads are closed local diversions would be in operation.

CHASE GREEN AVENUE, MONKS CLOSE, CHASE COURT GARDENS EN2– 4576

Reason for 14(1) Order – Essential Utility Works

Operational Date and times:

“At any time” on 18 August 2025 for 6 days or until works are completed.

The general effect of the Order would be to:

  • Monks Close

    • Close this road from its junction with Chase Green Avenue, northwards for approximately 20 metres; and

  • Chase Court Gardens

    • Close this road from its junction with Chase Green Avenue southwards for approximately 20 metres

  • Chase Green Avenue

    • Suspend parking between Bycullah Avenue and West Bank on both sides of the carriageway

The provisions of the Orders shall apply only at such times and as directed by Traffic signs. Access would be maintained only as far as the works allow.
