What is happening?

OLDHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

PROPOSED TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER THE OLDHAM CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROHIBITION OF WAITING AMENDMENT ORDER 2025

The Oldham Borough Council propose to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to,

Penmore Close Shaw - reduce the length of the at any time waiting restrictions on the south side of Penmore Close from Grains Road from 64 metres to 28 metres.

Southlink - prohibit waiting at all times on Southlink - South side from Glodwick Road for 120 metres generally westerly and North side from 135 metres west of Glodwick Road for 35 metres generally westerly and North side from Glodwick Road for 15 metres generally westerly.

Sholver Lane prohibit waiting at all times on north east and north west side - from 94 metres south east of a point opposite the southern kerb line of Cop Road for 82 metres south easterly and then north easterly & south west and south east side from a point 102 metres south east of Cop Road to 17 metres north east of Wilkes Street and Wilkes Street - west side from Sholver Lane for 20 metres southerly and east side from Sholver Lane for 26 metres southerly.

Oldham Road Springhead - change the 8am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday current waiting restrictions on the south side of Oldham Road springhead from 45 metres east of Wroe Street to Ashbrook Road to prohibit waiting at all times.

Full details of the proposal are in the draft Order, which, together with a map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be examined at my office between the hours of 8.40am and 5.00pm on Monday to Friday, Spindles Oldham Reception telephone 0161 770 4836, Ref: LJM/TO25/14,13,12 & 11.

Any objection or representations regarding the proposal should be sent to env.traffic@oldham.gov.uk or the Environment Group Solicitor to the Council, Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1UL in writing, stating the title of the Order to which they relate and the grounds for making them by 8th September 2025. Any objections or representations will be made available for public inspection.
