Wighay Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For New Gas Connection
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WIGHAY ROAD, HUCKNALL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (A25-119)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Hucknall in the District of Ashfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Wighay Road, Hucknall (Westbound Only) (At all times) - From its junction with Knightsbridge Gardens to its junction with Annesley Road.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting loading and unloading (Both Sides) (At Any Time) in the following length of road.
a. Wighay Road, Hucknall - From its junction with Knightsbridge Gardens to its junction with Annesley Road.
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 hours Saturday 23rd August 2025 until 16:00 hours on Sunday 24th August 2025
From, 08:00 hours Saturday 30th August 2025 until 16:00 hours on Sunday 31st August 2025
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Waterloo Road - Church Lane - Linby Road - Station Road -Torkard Way - Annesley Road and Vice versa
The Order will come into force on 23rd August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Power On to carry out works to complete new gas connection
