What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ALBATROSS WAY, HATFIELD, COLLEGE LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:
That length of Albatross Way, Hatfield from its junction with the Mosquito Way/Aviation Avenue roundabout south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the A1057 St Albans Road West/Ellenbrook Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 655m.
An alternative route will be via Mosquito Way and A1057 St Albans Road West.
That length of College Lane, Hatfield from its junction with A1001 Roehyde Way north eastwards, northwards and north eastwards to its junction with the B6426 Cavendish Way/Bishops Rise roundabout, a distance of approximately 989m.
An alternative route will be via A1001 (Roehyde Way/Comet Way) and B6426 Cavendish Way.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN CANNONSFIELD ROAD, POTTERSHEATH/WELWYN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cannonsfield Road, Pottersheath/Welwyn from its junction with Heath Road south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with B197 Great North Road, a distance of approximately 73m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Heath Road and B197 (London Road/Mardley Hill).
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BULLENS GREEN LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER NO2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield from its junction with North Mymms Public Footpath No.067 south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Bullens Green Lane, Roestock Lane, Tollgate Road, Fellows Lane and Bullens Green Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE BROADWAY, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Broadway, Hatfield from its junction with Fore Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Park Street, Old Hertford Road, A1000 Great North Road and The Broadway.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

ROAD HUMPS (MARDLEYBURY ROAD, CARNVERS CROFT AND CANNONSFIELD ROAD, WOOLMER GREEN) 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new speed limit restrictions in parts of Woolmer Green as specified in Schedules 1 to 3 to this Notice. It is also proposed under sections 90A – 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install a junction speed table and speed cushions in those lengths of Mardleybury Road, Carnvers Croft and Cannonsfield Road, Woolmer Green as specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice.

Speed Cushions
Cannonsfield Road:
(a) centred on a point 11.3 metres north east of a point in line with the projected north east kerbline of Cannonsfield.
(b) centred on a point 5.8 metres north east of a point in line with the boundary between 22 and 24 Cannonsfield Road.
(c) centred on a point 7.4 metres south west of a point in line with the boundary between 12 and 14 Cannonsfield Road.
(d) centred on a point 4.2 metres north east of a point in line with the projected north east kerbline of Heathbrow Road.
The speed cushions to be laid in pairs will be constructed and lit in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:19 and side gradients of approximately 1:5.
