What is happening?

ALFRED GELDER STREET (PART)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an Order.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person with a vehicle from proceeding along Alfred Gelder Street, between Clarence Street and Lowgate. The one way system on Lowgate, between Saltshouse Lane and North Wall will become a two way system for the duration of the closure.
The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during undertaking trial holes and inspection works of the utility pipework.
The alternative route for vehicles will be signed.
Access will be maintained for emergency services.
The Order will take effect on 1st September 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed between 1st September 2025 until 28th November 2025.
