CYHOEDDIAD O FWRIAD I BEIDIO Â PHARATOI
DATGANIAD AMGYLCHEDDOL.
Rheoliad 12B Rheoliadau Asesiad o’r Effaith Amgylcheddol (Gwaith Gwella Draenio Tir) SI1999/1783 fel y’i diwygiwyd
Mwynglawdd Metel Esgair Mwyn - Gwaith Atal Erydiad Pentyrrau Sborion

Mae Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru drwy hyn yn rhoi hysbysiad o’i fwriad i wneud gwaith gwella i lednant afon Nant y Garw ym mwynglawdd plwm segur Esgair Mwyn (Cyfeirnod Grid Cenedlaethol: SN7541069320), a leolir tua 2 km i’r gogledd-ddwyrain o Ffair-Rhos.

Bydd y gwaith arfaethedig yn cynnwys y canlynol:
Creu nodweddion rheoli llifogydd naturiol sydd wedi’u cynllunio i atal erydiad a symudiad gwastraff mwyngloddio. Bydd y nodweddion hyn yn cynnwys rhwystrau wedi’u gwneud o lystyfiant wedi’i fwndelu a’i rwymo, wedi’u gosod i’r ddaear gyda pholion pren.
Bydd y gwelliannau yn cael eu cyfyngu i’r pentyrrau sborion yn unig.
Bydd yr holl waith yn cael ei wneud â llaw, gyda mynediad cerbydau wedi’i
gyfyngu i draciau fferm.
Bydd tirffurfiau presennol a nodweddion hanesyddol y tomenni sborion mwyngloddio yn cael eu cadw. Ni fydd y gwaith yn effeithio ar unrhyw ardaloedd hysbys sy’n cynnwys cennau neu fryoffytau prin sy’n gysylltiedig â’r gwastraff mwyngloddio.
O ystyried graddfa fach a natur y gwaith ac absenoldeb safleoedd ecolegol sensitif sy’n bresennol yn yr ardal waith, mae Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru wedi dod i’r casgliad nad yw’r gwaith gwella arfaethedig yn debygol o gael effeithiau amgylcheddol sylweddol. Felly, nid yw’n bwriadu paratoi Datganiad Amgylcheddol mewn perthynas â nhw.
Er nad oes bwriad o greu datganiad amgylcheddol, mae’r cynllun wedi ystyried ffactorau amgylcheddol sy’n gysylltiedig â’r safle a chafodd Cynllun Gweithredu Amgylcheddol ei baratoi i’w ddefnyddio wrth gyflawni’r prosiect.

Gellir gofyn am wybodaeth EAP a dylunio prosiect gan y cyswllt isod.
Dylai unrhyw un sy’n dymuno cyflwyno sylwadau mewn perthynas ag effeithiau amgylcheddol tebygol y gwaith gwella arfaethedig wneud hynny, yn ysgrifenedig, a’u hanfon i’r cyfeiriad a nodir isod, o fewn 30 diwrnod i ddyddiad cyhoeddi’r hysbysiad hwn.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT.
Regulation 12B of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) SI1999/1783 as amended
Esgair Mwyn Metal Mine - Spoil Heap Erosion Prevention Works

Natural Resources Wales hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out improvement works to a tributary of the Nant y Garw at the abandoned Esgair Mwyn Lead Mine (National Grid Reference: SN7541069320), located approximately 2 km northeast of Ffair-Rhos.

The proposed works will involve the following:
The creation of natural flood management features designed to prevent scour, erosion and the mobilisation of mine wastes. These features will consist of hurdles made from bundled and bound vegetation brash, fixed to ground with wooden stakes.
The improvements will be confined solely to the spoil heaps. All work will be carried out manually, with vehicular access limited to farm tracks.
The existing landforms and historic features of the mining spoil heaps will be preserved.
The works will not impact any known areas containing rare lichens or bryophytes associated with the mine waste. Given the small scale and nature of the works and absence of sensitive ecological sites present within the working area, Natural Resources Wales has concluded that the proposed improvement works are not likely to have significant environmental effects. Therefore, it does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement in respect of them. Although an environmental statement is not being produced, the scheme design has considered environmental factors associated with the site and an Environmental Action Plan (EAP) has been prepared for use during delivery of the project. The EAP and project design information can be requested from the contact below.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
