Borough Of Halton - Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting, Loading, Stopping And Street Parking Places

What is happening?

HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL give notice that it intends to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, as follows:
PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, LOADING, STOPPING AND STREET PARKING PLACES) VARIOUS ROADS ORDER 2025

The effect of the Order is to:
1. revoke and re-introduce with modifications all (non moving) stopping, waiting and loading prohibitions and restrictions and parking place provisions in all roads within the Borough of Halton as marked and signed on street.

2. Present the provisions for all (non moving) stopping, waiting, and loading prohibitions and restrictions and parking places in a new Map-based Traffic Regulation Order without change to those provisions, as currently marked and signed on street, with exception to the restriction set out in section 4 below of this notice.

3. All previous (non moving) permanent Orders, for the areas of Runcorn and Widnes, relating to prohibitions and restrictions on waiting, loading, stopping and street parking places on roads that the Council are the Highway Authority shall hereby be revoked and re-introduced as a consolidated Halton Borough wide order, insofar as they relate to items contained within the Map Schedules to this Order.

4. Introduce new articles within the Halton Borough Consolidation Order to set out the terms and conditions of all on-street Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points. A copy of the proposed Order to which it relates, together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours at Halton Direct Link Offices in Runcorn Shopping City, Runcorn and Brook Street, Widnes. Any objections to the proposed Order, together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the undersigned by 4 September 2025.
