Stamfordham Road Area - Prohibition All Vehicular Traffic For Works

What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(STAMFORDHAM ROAD AREA) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 31 July 2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following Roads:

i. Chatsworth Gardens, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 13 metres in a Northeasterly direction.

ii. Highfield Road, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 10 metres in a Southwesterly direction.

iii. North Avenue, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 10 metres in a Southwesterly direction.

iv. Denton Grove, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 5 metres in a Northeasterly direction.

v. Queens Road, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 5 metres in a Southwesterly direction.

vi. Briarside, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 9 metres in a North-easterly direction.

vii. Windsor Crescent (Western junction), from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 13 metres in a North-easterly direction.

viii. Windsor Crescent (Eastern junction), from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 11 metres in a North-easterly direction.

ix. Ellesmere Avenue, from its junction with Stamfordham Road for 8 metres in a Southwesterly direction.

2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.

3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.

4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the said works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.

5. The Order will come into operation on 31 August 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 23 November 2025 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
