What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

WITNEY: WELCH WAY – PROPOSED RAISED PARALLEL CROSSING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council as the local highway authority under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, proposes to introduce a new Parallel Crossing (consisting of a zebra crossing for pedestrian use only, with an adjacent parallel priority cycleway) on a raised table (ramp gradient of 1:15, and table height 75mm) in Witney at the following location:

  • Welch Way – located approx. 12 metres* east of its junction with the A415 Five Ways roundabout.

* All dimensions are approximate, and where necessary are taken from the centre of the nearest junction to the centre of the specified feature.

Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk. Copies may be made available on request.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below (or via the web address above) no later than 05 September 2025.

The County Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. (Ref: JaC/12.6.410/N0333)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Eynsham, Back Lane

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 4 August 2025

Coming into force: 11 August 2025

This Order is being introduced because of sewer repair works which are anticipated to be completed on 22 August 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of Back Lane outside property No.51. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the signed diversion route.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T1507/RAG)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) & (7)

Notice of Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Enstone, B4030

Date of Order: 18 August 2025

Coming into force: 1 September 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre optic and power cable installations which are anticipated to be completed on 21 October 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in excess of 30 mph on the B4030 between Church Enstone and Enstone Airfield. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Enstone Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 will be temporarily suspended in respect of the existing 40 & 50mph speed limits. (Ref: T16013/RAG)
