What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE

MOORHOUSES ROAD, NORTH SHIELDS SECTION 14 (2) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it has made an Order under Section 14 (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order prohibits all through traffic on Moorhouses Road from the junction with Moor Park Road to the junction with St Anselm Road (approx location at this junction will be from numbers 11-17).

An alternate route is available via St Anselm Road, St Anselm Crescent, Chirton Hill Drive, Moor Park Road, Embleton Road.

The temporary Emergency Order is required due to land slippage when undertaking major sewer repairs, which have extended the duration of the works. The original Order was in place till 10 August 2025 and has been extended to 5 September 2025.
