What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WORKSOP BRIDLEWAY NO.47, RAYTON LANE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Worksop Bridleway No.47, Rayton Lane) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025 (which came into force on 10th February 2025 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remains in force until 9th August 2025 inclusive) being extended, and continuing in force until 9th February 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.

The Order has the following effect:-

No person shall:-

(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed,

in the following length of Bridleway at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw:

Worksop Bridleway No.47, Rayton Lane, from its junction with the surfaced public highway by the sewage works, to just beyond Rayton Farm.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are various alternative route available around the closure.

If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety while works to install a solar farm take place adjacent to the bridleway.
