Suffolk, Multiple Roas, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C649 BARTON ROAD, GREAT LIVERMERE

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C649 Barton Road, Great Livermere from 30 metres south of the junction with Bury Road for 30 metres southbound to facilitate a water meter exchange. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1088, the A143 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 06/08/2025 from 8am - 12pm (noon) but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C659 THE GREEN, BARROW

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C659 The Green, Barrow from the junction with Bury Road to the junction with Barrow Hill to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/08/2025 - 13/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE U1543 WELL STREET, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U1543 Well Street, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Cannon Street for 31 metres southbound to facilitate the installation and replacement of an electrical box. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Looms Lane, Northgate Street, Cannon Street with no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/08/2025 - 11/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C572 THORNHAM ROAD, GISLINGHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C572 Thornham Road, Gislingham from the railway bridge for 100 metres westbound to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the Gislingham Road, Major Lane, the A140 Eye Road, The Street, Mellis Road, Yaxley Road, Yaxley Road, The Common, Ash Road, Mellis Road, Mellis Road, Wortham, the A143, the B1113, Back Street, High Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 15/08/2025 from 9:30am - 1:30pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C325

LODGE ROAD AND THE STREET; C326 ROSERY LANE, C324, C327 SECKFORD HALL ROAD

AND U3308 LOWER STREET, GREAT BEALINGS,

LITTLE BEALINGS AND HASKETON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • C325 Lodge Road, Great Bealings

  • C326 Rosery Lane, Great Bealings

  • C324, Great Bealings

  • the C324, Hasketon

  • C327 Seckford Hall Road, Great Bealings from Lodge Road to Footpath 8, Great Bealings

  • C325 The Street, Little Bealings from Lodge Road to Fynn Bridge

  • U3308 Lower Street, Great Bealings from Lodge Road to High Trees.

    This is to facilitate flood alleviation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

    Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

    The diversion routes will be:

  1. Diversion from Lodge Lane to Seckford Hall Road - The Street, Martlesham Road, Bealings Road, The Street, Top Street, the B1438, the A12, the B1079

    and vice versa

  2. Diversion from Rosery Lane to Lodge Road - Bealings Lane, Grundisburgh Road, the A12 and vice versa.

    It is intended that the closure will operate on 15/08/2025 from 9am - 3pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE A146 NORWICH ROAD, BECCLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A146 Norwich Road, Beccles from the level crossing for 20 metres westbound and 20 metres eastbound to facilitate crossing maintenance works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A146, the A145, the B1062, Station Road, George Westwood Way and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10pm on 15/08/2025 - 5:30am on 16/08/2025. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
