Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF ASHFORD)
(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council proposes to make the above named Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to make the following order:-
The effect of the Order would be to prohibit all vehicles from entry except cycles and emergency vehicles on the following length of road in Great Chart, Chilmington, Ashford:-
CHILMINGTON GREEN ROAD – From a point 130 metres south east of the junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 3 metres no entry for any vehicles travelling in both directions.

(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020 (AMENDMENT No.22) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to reduce the existing speed limits on the following length of roads in Great Chart, Chilmington, Ashford:-
ASHFORD ROAD – Change the existing 50mph speed limit to 40mph from a point 25 metres north of its junction with Old Surrenden Manor Road to a point 60 metres south of its junction with Chilmington Green Road. CHILMINGTON GREEN ROAD – Change from National speed limit to 40mph from its junction with Ashford Road to its junction with Tally Ho Road. SANDY LANE – Change the existing 50mph speed limit to 40mph from its junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 30 metres in a north westerly direction. UNAMED ROAD Place a 20mph from its junction with Ashford Road to its junction with Chilmington Green Road.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is given that THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposed to make the following Order:-
The effect of the made Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions (DYL means double yellow lines “no waiting at any time” restrictions) on the following length of roads, in Ashford:-
BELLFLOWER RISE – DYL – (1) On both sides of the south junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 11 metres in a westerly direction. (2) On both sides of the north junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 8 metres in a westerly direction. DAISY PLACE – DYL – On the both sides from the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue to the junction with Hinxhill Road (except for in the parking laybys). HINXHILL ROAD – DYL - On both sides from a point 51 north east of the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue to a point in line with the southern boundary of 1 Hinxhill Road (except for in the parking laybys). HONEYSUCKLE AVENUE – DYL On the East Side – (1) From its junction with Hythe Road for a distance of 71 metres in a northerly direction. (2) Between points 88 metres and 178 metres. (3) Between points 184 metres and 228 metres. (4) Between points 240 metres and 250 metres. (5) Between points 262 metres and 322 metres. (6) Between points 340 metres and 396 metres. (7) Between points 402 metres and 417 metres. (8) Between points 429 metres and 442 metres. (8) Between points 448 metres and 471 metres. (9) Between points 477 metres and 512 metres. (10) Between points 523 metres and 536 metres. (11) Between points 542 metres and 552 metres. (12) From a point 558 metres north of the junction with Hythe Road to the junction with Hinxhill Road. HONEYSUCKLE AVENUE – DYL – On the West Side – (1) From the junction with Hythe Road for a distance of 111 metres in a northerly direction. (2) Between points 123 metres and 132 metres. (3) Between points 145 metres and 277 metres. (4) Between points 283 metres and 346 metres. (5) Between points 358 metres and 365 metres. (6) Between points 371 metres and 429 metres. (7) Between points 441 metres and 538 metres. (8) From a point between 544 metres north of the junction with Hythe Road to the junction with Hinxhill Road. LABURNUM LANE – DYL – On both sides of the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 9 metres in an easterly direction. LILY DRIVE – DYL – (1) On both sides from the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue to the junction with Hinxhill Road (except for in the parking laybys). the south side for its entire length. MALLOW ROAD – DYL – On the west side from the junction with Daisy Place for a distance of 8 meters in a south westerly direction. MARIGOLD DRIVE – DYL - On both siders from the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 9 metres in a westerly direction. STICHWORT LANE - DLY - On both sides from the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 9 metres in an easterly direction. TULIP DRIVE - DLY – (1) On both sides from the south junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 9 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On both sides from the north junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 7 metres in an easterly direction. WELLINGTON CLOSE – DYL – On both sides from the junction with Honeysuckle Avenue for a distance of 14 metres in a south easterly direction.

ORDER 2025
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is given that the KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’) and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the above listed Order.
The effect of the made named Order will be to consolidate all Speed Limit restrictions in the Borough of Dartford and to present the location of the existing restrictions in a new map schedule and to specify each type of restriction so presented in a map schedule legend.
The Orders were made on 14th August 2025 and the provisions of the Orders will come into effect on 15th August 2025.

DOVER AREA

(VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER) (SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022 (AMENDMENT No.14) ORDER 2025
The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act‘), the Traffic Management 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to make the following Order:-
The effect of the order would be to reduce the existing 50mph speed limit and extend the current 40MPH speed limit on the following length of roads in Alkham, Dover:-
ALKHAM ROAD – From a point in line with its junction entrance to Chilton Farm for a distance of 310 metres in an easterly direction to join up with the current 40MPH speed limit. ALKHAM VALLEY ROAD – From a point in line with its junction entrance to Chilton Farm for a distance of 660 metres in a westerly direction to join up with the current 40MPH speed limit.

The KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (‘the Act’) the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-
The effect of the named Order will be to reduce the current Permit holders only parking bay on the following length of road in Folkestone, Folkestone and Hythe:-
THE TRAM ROAD – On its south east side from a point opposite the southern boundary of Southview reduce the parking bay by 4.3 metres in a south westerly direction.

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby proposes to make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to reduce the existing speed limit to a 40mph speed limit in Bearsted, Maidstone on the following length of road:-
ASHFORD ROAD – From a point 106 metres west of its junction with Otham Lane for a distance of 2260 metres in an easterly then southeasterly direction.

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council proposes to make the above named Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to make the following order:-
The effect of the Order would be to introduce various traffic movements on the following length of roads in Burham and Wouldham, Tonbridge & Malling:-
HIGH STREET, WOULDHAM – Prohibition of Motor Vehicles at the junction with School Lane (except buses) when travelling in a southerly direction. ROCHESTER ROAD, BURHAM – (1) No right-hand turn into Scarborough Lane and the junction with Rochester Road. (2) No right-hand turn into Church Street at the junction with Rochester Road.
This was an experimental order that is now being made permanent after the trial period and adjustments to the scheme have been made after the first consultation.

(AMENDMENT No.12) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.
The effect of the Order is to place double yellow lines (DYL) on the following length of roads in Hawkhurst, Tunbridge Wells:-
COPTHALL AVENUE – DYL – On both sides of its junction with Highgate Hill for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction. HIGHGATE HILL – DTL – On both sides at its junction with Copthall Avenue for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. WESTERN ROAD – DYL – On both sides of the entrance to Hawkhurst Baptist Church for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
