Blythe Lane, Lathom, & Dark Lane, Ormskirk - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Cabling To New Customer Works

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BLYTHE LANE, LATHOM, & DARK LANE, ORMSKIRK, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Blythe Lane, Lathom at its junction with Flax Lane, Burscough in a westerly direction to its junction with Dark Lane and Dark Lane, Ormskirk at its junction with Blythe Lane, Lathom for a distance of 25 metres in a southerly direction.

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 09:30 until 15:30 on Wednesday 13th August 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.

4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.

5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-

Hobcross Lane, B5240 Hall Lane, Dicks Lane, A577 Wigan Road, A577 Crosshall Brow, A577 Wigan Road, Tower Hill, Greetby Hill, Dark Lane, and vice versa

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow access to overhead network, cabling to new customer works to be carried out.
